Mini Lite Wheels

Once I get the sway bar fixed ( previous post) it will be time to think about wheels. I wanted Dayton wire wheels but have decided on mini lites.
Where is the best place to purchase them, keep in mind I will be shipping them to Canada. Are there different brands of mini lite wheels?
Thanks, Phil

So... do you have wire wheel hubs (knock off) or steel wheel hubs (four lugs)?

I have the "Minator" brand Minilite copies on my MGB and have been very happy with them.

I have minators as well, they are at least! half the cost of the ones from the UK. The magnesium would not be recommended for a street car.

BTW, I spoke with the guy who makes them in the UK when he just bought the molds, he was looking for financial investors.

Superlite is a better quality wheel and better priced than Minators, but I might be a bit biased /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Superlite are closer to Panasport quality, but priced at slightly less than Minator, and in my opinion, I ran them all, better quality than Minilite as well.

Wow Hap. That's one fine looking car.

You can race these cars????????

WOW! I had no idea, I autocrossed my Z06 and thought when I sold it my autocrossing days were done.

Cool picture and cool car!

So I tried to reply earlier and got bounced, hopefully this doesn't double post.

What size wheel are you guys running? I see that the superlites go from 13x5.5 to 13x8. I'd like to run something a little wide in the rear (but nothing overkill) than the front. Especially wider than stock. If you have pictures I'd love to see them, even if you had to flare out the body panels.

Thanks,

Ben

But with the aftermarkets you don't get that great
Made in ENGLAND embossing!!!!

In the Superlite I recommend the 13 x5.5" 4" back spacing, I sell them to Spridget people all the time. Here's a picture of the Superlite 13 x5.5" on the race car, center caps, lug nuts and chromed valve stems are included, just add air and tires ad you're good to go. We just don't run center caps on the race cars, oh and I am running 1" wheel spacers and long studs, we do that to get to max wheel track, you won't need to do that with a street car.

Jack, that car looks pitiful now, it's a long story, But the father who owned the car, got me to re-do it and we were going to sell it, he was paralyzed from a motorcycle crash and had been sick for awhile, he passed away during the restoration, the family insisted I continue. The deal was I was to finsh the car and race at the runoffs prod car fest to increase it's value, then sell it and get my bill from it. After the father died the son and mother ask me to keep the car and race it a bit longer to wipe out the shop debt, and then the son could later race the car, he's 21. As fate would have it that the son had a motorcycle and crashed just like his father did and now is paralyzed as well. They then ask me to sell the car, but SCCA race cars don't sell well or atlest anything near their worth, and we found it better to part the car out, I sold all the goodies, race motors, tranny, fiberglass body work, wheels etc, etc, I ended up with the rolling chassis as my end of the deal. The car is named Speedracer because their last name is Speed, I'm going to convert it to a vintage car and in namesake it will always be "Speedracer" in their honor. Sorry for the depressing story /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

As I said before, nice car, as usual you done good Hap.

Hap that is very nice.

13x5.5 here with a rear panhard bar, looking into getting 1/4 spacers for the rear.

Phil..there's nothing better than authentic resto's...I've kept my original AH wheels and caps but my 62 looks great
with the original minilites on as well...GOOD LUCK on your decision.
