Currently have the Mini on a four post lift. Looking into replacing the rear subframe. Any suggestions for supporting the chassis while doing this? Not sure I'm comfortable with resting the car on it's side, on some tires. Engine/gearbox is out, so it probably wouldn't take much to flip it over, but...

There are youtube videos called "Classic Mini DIY" and one video on rear subframe replacement. He didn't use a lift but rather a piece of 2 x 4 lumber across the body underside just in front of the rear wheel wells supported by jack stands and then after disconnecting everything lowered the subframe. Probably could use the lift posts in that area to achieve the same result.
 
I think the suggestion above works. The car is not very heavy so the weight on the unibody is ok.
 
I've watched some of the Classic Mini DIY videos, didn't recall that one. Have some landscaping timbers that should work fine. Thanks!
