There was one of these floating aroung "Spring Thing" in Orlando a few years ago. I have always liked the styling. It kind of shows what could have become of the Mini, if BMC had survived and had developed or progressed the line like other cars.

I know it's blasphemy...

Unipowers were fun little cars to drive. It's a shame there were so few of them built. I had a friend in Arizona that used to let me take his for the occasional thrash.

Interesting. But it is even more interesting that no one, IMHO, has been able to truly improve on the original design. Minis are sort of like Jeeps, a timeless marriage of form and function.

The Midas was a UK kit car based on Mini/Metro mechanicals.

I believe the factory went up in flames over ten years ago. However, the little car had an extremely strong plastic composite body. The owner of Midas, Harold Dermott, became the chief body engineer for the...McLaren F1.
