Miles to Go?

Does my 1989 xj6 tell me how many miles I have left to travel in my tank of gas? I know it has a RANGE setting, is this it? I ask because my RANGE goes up and down while driving.

Yes, I think "range" is miles to go. It changes because the MPG your car gets changes constantly as you drive. Up hill vs downhill, steady state cruising vs stop and go....However, based on my experience, do not trust it implicently until you have put a lot of miles on the car and compared the overall average to figures that you compute yourself. They can lie!!
