Miles Per Year

Tahoe posted an interesitng question re total miles, which made me wonder - what about miles per year?

In the last three years since I decided to actually use the car, I've put on about 7,000 miles per year. The first 27 years I owned the car, I'd estimate about zero to 500 miles per year (the odometer wasn't working until 2001) and the car wasn't used regularly; it would sit for 3, 6, 9 months at a time - not good, I know...

In a pile of papers I found an old 1977 Bill of Sale for my newly acquired '59 100-6. The seller quoted 77,820 miles then. Four owners and 28 years later, the odo now reads 77,910 miles. 90 miles in 28 years, or 3.2 miles per year, is a lot more than I would have guessed, considering that the car has never actually run in all that time. Perhaps I will be the one to finish the car and drive it?
