Mildly annoyed with VB

I was just looking thru their new spit/gt6 catalog and noticed that identical part numbers listed for the gt6 are cheaper than the listing for spitfire. Look at the syncro rings and trans gasket sets.

It always pays to shop. TRF currently lists hinges, p/n 607824, for $17.93.

Ok, I see what I did. If you search "hinge" for GT6 mk1 you get several results. One is yours, the other is a door hinge kit, which is RFK830 $29.95. 607824 is a door hinge assembly... ...I have no idea which one is better or what all is included in each. From the quantity listed, Im guessing that maybe the "kit" is all 4 included, and the $17.93 one is just one. Too confusing, especially since there are several other part #s that also sound like the item I need.

Problem is many times when I order, such as this case, I need the item ASAP. Almost always when I order it's way passed business hours. So pretty much I would have to email them, hope they answer it immediately the next day, and then risk the possibility that I won't get the item in time for the following weekend. Of course I could pay extra for faster shipping, but then I'm wasting money that I wouldn't have in the first place.

BTW do they have a real spit/gt6 catalog? I hate their online one and have to scroll down every page. Having a real catalog on hand is one of the reasons ordering from VB is so easy (except for their specials). It looks like they do, but when I try to subscribe it looks like all they have to send are TR catalogs.

Sadly, TRF does not have a "full" catalogue for either Spitfire or GT6. They do have a "glovebox companion" catalogue for the Spitfire, and it states on their site that their "full" Spitfire 1500 catalogue is coming to the web soon.

That's the bad news. Good news is that they go by Stanpart (Triumph) part numbers, and then also by Lucas and Girling numbers. So if you know your part numbers (which you can often get from, say, Spitbits, Canley Classics or Rimmer Bros. online...or from original Spare Parts Catalogues), you can use TRF's part number search to find prices and availability.

So their glove box companion is an actual tangible object that they can mail you? How do I get one?

From their site

Welcome to The Roadster Factory's Web Site for British Sports Car enthusiasts. The Roadster Factory stocks a full range of components for Triumph and MG sports cars. If you have the factory parts manual you have TRF's part catalogue for the most part. I do have a copy of their long out of print Spitfire 1500 catalogue and it's essentially the BL parts catalogue.
