From the look of the Mikuni's on their website, someone is going to be fabricating some linkage to go between the carbs and a bellcrank to open them in unison.

How are you planning to fit these to the RG trip manifold, Don?

Don't worry, Don. You're safe for quite a while with me on this one. Too many other costly projects under way at this time. Right now, I'm quite happy with my tri-carbs and how they perform.

Installation is easy and fairly quick.
Initially the engine did not respond very well since the jets selected by Chris were way off. I may have been one of the very first with the TR6 set up so he did not have the jetting dialed in. Once I got the tune to a point that seemed right they have been great. The last adjustment that I made to the carburetters was back in April of this year and you don't have to fill dashpots with oil!
The throttle response is crisp and instantaneous, you do not have to wait for the acceleration. You can't just stomp on the gas however, you have to roll in the throttle to have maximum acceleration. Stomping on the gas causes the engine to bog down as if it is not getting enough fuel (which is probably exactly what is happening).You get used to gradually applying the throttle and you can do it quite quickly so thats not really not a problem.
The only thing I do not like about this setup is something that stems from the carburetters being designed for motorcycles. Though the carbs hold a steady idle and will do it all day as long as they are not touched they do not return to idle every time. I have my idle set at 650 RPM but when I take the car out of gear for a stop light the idle speed may be as high as 800- 1000 RPM. I then have to blip the throttle for the speed to drop back to 650. I surmise that this is because the return springs and manufacturing tolerances cause the throttle plate to hang up just a bit. This would not be a problem on a bike since the throttle is a pull- pull setup and with as twist of the wrist you can slam the plate shut. Blipping the throttle around town is becoming annoying. Another thing is that the throttle cable arrangement is a bit hokey but affective.
For the most part I am happy with the performance Mikunis and not having to constantly adjust them is very nice.

I have a triple set if anyone wants to buy them, goodparts triple manifold, 3 mikunis eveything you need, all you need is to provide the time to get them right
 
I should have added that trying to get the right jets selected and installed was a real pain. Chris was not much help. He did supply some parts after a couple of phone calls so to speed up the process I ended up buying my own from a local distributor. To change the mixture you have to change several parts in the carburettors themselves. This requires you to take the bowls off to get at them. The process was a lot of trial and error and a real PITA but now that its done nothing needs to be re adjusted.
 
Don, looks like Hondo has what you need to get this going.

I'm glad that I'm in chassis rebuild mode at this time....
