Midget vs Mini Autotest

Wow.

Of course, Midget's kick Mini butt all day everyday. Oh wait, there is no butt to kick.

Still, the course certainly played to the Midget's strengths and the Mini's weaknesses. Hard to swing your rear like that in a FWD.

Ps. I still want a Mini.

Excellent find.
OK, what exhaust do I need to buy to get that note?

Well, lets face it. A mini was designed to be a passenger car and a spridget was designed as a sports car. Still the min can do a killer reverse wheely and stand almost on its nose /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Wish I could drive like that, think not on my best day.

Minis get good traction but they roll quick unless you put some wide tires on them and that hydrolastic suspension don't help either. I had a mechanic explain that system to me at a pub once, I don't think he could have done it sober /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif That guy has got some hard rubber tires on that midget so it will slide or he might have rolled it going backwards like that.

I want whatever is on that suspension on my car! It's a real lessons on what can (or can't be done) by viewing those two videos.

That mini pretty narrow tires on the back, and I'm guessing independent front brakes. I always get a kick out of that video.

Thats no stock mini though, hotrodding in a mini usually goes like this. You think you have succesfully negotiated a turn and then the suspension kicks in and who knows. It helps if everyone in the car leans the right way, if you know which way that is. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Minis are shaped so that they land back on their wheels most of the time. I wish I could find one reasonably priced for the wife.

Looking at that again. He has got 12s on the front and 10s on the back and he is using the e-brake to slide the rear. I can vouch for the backward wheely. Most stock minis can do it. I don't know what kind of suspension he has but it might be the early rubber cone type. Man that is a rough ride, the kind of ride where everyone tightens up and braces themselved for the railroad track ahead and then afterwards looks at each other and says "well, that wasn't so bad was it"/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Note how the bonnet does not fit just right on a brand new one. Now I don't feel so bad.

I will say that Miss Agatha sounds just like that though. Does make one feel loved.

Also noted that his second gear was a bit stiff, hehe, so is mine.

I used to throw the front on my austin america almost every weekend doing this sort of autocross(or driving tests as we called them at home) and it had hydrolastic suspension. The chap in the mini just doesn't get it right

dead easy to throw the rear in a fwd car, you just need a properly set up handbrake, a knob on the steering wheel also helps. Just put the power to it, crank the wheel and hit the handbrake. We used to push in the button on the handbrake and drill a hole througt it and then pin it so it wouldn't stay on and it it just a matter of lifting it up to lock the rear and letting it go, no button to worry about and when you didnt need it like that just take the pin out and it was back to normal .

That one is going into the Wiki! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif That's important info!
