Midget Suspension Upgrades

Grinding the next coil down will further shorten the effective length (if I recall correctly, this increases spring rate). It's probably best to do it, however, so that you get the spring to rest on the perch properly, even if for no other reason.

I agree with Jcatnite on the urethane. A bit much for a Spridget on the street. I had them and took them out to go back to rubber. My Sprite would change lanes all by itself if i hit the white line on the road. No give and you really do need a little give in the suspension.
Just my 2 cents.

Just cut them square and position the cut end up and to the outside. No real reason other than that is where I always put them. Kinda think it gives me a consistant result.

one more thing be very careful with your measurements a little goes a long way. 1/2 of one active coil on the spring should get you close. For the car to work right the suspension needs to move.

Poly bushings are available in several different durometer (hardness). I suggest you look at several suppliers including Energy Suspension, and look closely at some of the British magazines for suppliers there.

Spring rates are a subject of much debate, but the current thinking in NASCAR (and elsewhere) is LOWER spring rates and THICKER sway bars.

I would suggest you start with the stock springs and a 9/16 or 5/8 bar, and then uprate your springs if you feel it necessary. Addition of a bar and replacement bushings will help a lot. Dont forget to use poly rear spring and swaybar bushings while you are at it!

I agree ... if the car doesn't have a swaybar to start with, the difference will be amazing. Try it first (it's pretty easy to change springs and bars, once the swaybar is installed), and you can easily change it later.

So no one on this forum has or knows anyone who has bought the kit from VB? I keep finding conflicting evidence that it does indeed come with everything you need for the install. One person says it does, another says it doesn't, one website says it does another says it doesn't and so on... All I really need is some proof that everything comes with it.

I have purchased many sway bar kits from VB. It came with everything needed to install in the car. If your car has no sway bar you order that kit and it will come with the end links and all. If you car already has the stock bar it will come ready to use the stock end links. Both work fine.
