Ok......it was 30 years ago but still cool! My favorite TV show when I was a kid was "CHiPs" and I found a website with a lot of episodes from 1978-79 including this one:

https://www.fancast.com/tv/C...ound-the-Bank/videos

There is a blue rubber bumper Midget that plays a prominent role in the entire episode.

The good:

-plenty of high speed Midget action

-many other British/European cars featured....including a Lotus Eclat. When was the last time you saw one of those?

-guest stars a young Markie Post (drives a Fiat Spider)

The Bad:

-poor little Midget gets wedged in a tunnel in the end

-reminder of how bad clothing styles were in the 70's

The ugly:

-a painfully long square dancing sequence......painfully long!

Just thought I'd share......not sure if it has ever been brought up before. My apologies if it has.

Now, that was fun.

I LOVED it! Just FF through that horrible square dance and turn down the volume until the chase scenes!!! I really enjoyed that. Thanks!

won't let me access it - It keeps telling me I've already watched it

If they really wanted to catch these guys, just trace the oil trail back to their hideout!

It was new then... It only dripped occasionally...

I remember seeing this episode as a child. However, I remembered the car being some sort of fast, exotic sports car.... not a Midget.

That was pretty awesome! Looks like the Midge was only going 40mph! haha. Super fun though.

When I see Erik Estrada all i think of is those late night infomercial about buying swamp land. lol.

Something kinda scary about the mix of disco music and banjos in that square dance sequence. I wonder how many times they had to reattach the exhaust. Those jumps in the aquaduct cracked me up. All I could think was "Go Greased Lightning, Go Greased Lightening."

Good lord.. disco square dancing. Some things can't be unheard.

I liked the fact that the midget never hit anything, but came so close. Pretty good stunts for just one episode. It cracks me up how the bandits started thwarting the police by using the height of the car to their advantage. Now I'm going to be scoping out my routes looking for fences and conveniently parked semi trailers

The end was like Grease. I wish I had somewhere like that to play around.

The beginning chase scene is pretty intense. I can't imagine riding a police cruiser through a crash course like that with any sort of sense of stability.

I remember sneaking my 1500 under parking garage barriers. Just had to lift the gate slightly over the windshield as I passed under it.

That was a great show, though one thing I never understood. Two motorcycle cops and the two always rode together, why not just have a fast car? I would think they would have separate routes to have more coverage. Great episode, though.
