Midget Special

My Midget has the Special stripe on the side. I've look all over the internet and can't find anything about it, although it doesn't seem to have anything special. Can anyone tell me alittle about it?

Thanks

Yes, it has a special stripe that makes it special. Otherwise, I think it is a standard midget. I believe this was a dealer gimmick in North America.

The MG Midget Special was an attempt to raise US sales figures. The only difference between the Special and a regular Midget it the Special came with, as standard equipment... AM/FM Radio, Chrome luggage rack, Chrome wheel trim rings, and the T shaped "Special" graphic.

I happened to locate one of the original Ads on E-bay. Here's the pic....

What I still can't figure oiut from the ad is the front bimper. It does not look to me like the regular rubber bumper. Rather it appears like a conventional bumper covered in rubber. Is it just the angle? Has anyone seen a bumper like this?
