From another list....

Please be on the lookout for my stolen MG Midget
race car. Car is a full race EMRA/SCCA car with a full cage and a 1275
engine. A distinguishing feature is an add on bar to the rear hoop for a
previous taller driver. Car is yellow (or was!). Also taken was my
single axle trailer. Trailer was green/aqua with a tire rack and
storage box on the front. The doors were taken off the storage shed and
both trailer and car were stolen. Thanks in advance.

that sux. keep an eye on your local craig's list to see if someone tries to sell it and hope the POS gets caught.

It has been a long day but...the trailer is sitting in my driveway, I pick up the race car Monday and two people are in jail! THANK YOU to all on this list and the others I posted to. The police officer's said without such quick leads the car would have been gone by Tuesday at those latest. I am out a spare tire, possibly some parts but all in all I am ecstatic at the outcome. BTW, the brain surgeons sold the car to a recycler for $160.00!!! Special thanks to Mike Joy, Daryl Saylor and all the people that helped get the word out. I owe you one!

Curious, Did the recyclers call it in to the police or are they in jail also? If they didn't call it in, they should be in jail also! There's no way they wouldn't know it was stolen! 160 bucks? Yeah, these types are out there. JMHO. PJ

The town I work in had a similar situation... Unfortunately the claw had picked up the vehicle before the police got to it. They got the thieves but the car looked like heck.
Here, you practically have to give a DNA sample to recycle anything. Still , it's a losing. Attlee against the dregs of society.
Not that it's justice ... But the bad to peel a guy off some overhead power wires (copper) that they were literally stealing off the pole 40 ft in the air.

No, a member of the MGex motorsports forum saw the trailer in Craigslist two days after it was stolen, pictures of the trailer had been posted on the forum the day before, he just went to Craiglist to look around, and boom, there it was, he alerted the owner and the police, we heard two people were arrested, but have no idea if one of them was the recycler, it should be, he had to know better. The Craigslist ad (same town as the trailer was stolen from, thank goodness crminal are often stupid) was also posted on the MGex motorsports forum and I called after knowing the trailer and car were recovered, you know, have a bit of fun with them, and see what the person answering the phone would say, turned out to be a lady with Latino accent, who would only say " de trailer is gone" and then hung up on me, turns out if you googled the phone number in CL ad, several Craigslist ads came up associated with this phone number, hopefully the police were smart enough to do the same thing, obviously these folks were career criminals, gotta love them illegals.

I also had a car trailer stolen from my fenced lot at the shop by a illegal, a few years ago, he got caught too and had to pay restitution in a amount more than my buddy paid for the trailer to begin with, that's justice with interest :smile:
