Midget question

My 67 engine has a 1275 plate riveted on drivers side just under manifold. Don't know about the 1100.

(from memory, but I'm pretty sure this is right):

The 1275 engine should have a plate on it that starts with "12CG" or possibly "12CC".
The 1098 engine has a plate that starts with either "10CC" (older) or "10CG" (newer).

The 1275 cars (Sprite and Midgets) began production in October 1966, so many "late '66" cars might have been registerd as '67.

The obvious visual difference in a 1275 car (as far as I know) is the folding top with the top-frame bolted to the car. All the 1098 cars had the removable "erector set" top-frame.

Of course, there is always a chance that the car has had an engine swap. I own an early '66 with a '67 1275 engine that was installed much later.
