A couple of yers ago I saw a couple of photos posted somewhere showing a BRG RWA Midget with a Bugeye bonnet and a Bugeye rear clip. I believe that the lady who owned the car lived in Louisville, Kentucky. Does anyone else remember those photos or anything about the car?

I think I remember seeing the website you are talking about. It was a 1967 Sprite that had a bugeye nose, and the rear fenders from a bugeye but retained the boot lid from the '67.

I was thinking she was in Kansas.

Man your good!!! That's the one. I at least had the first letter of the state correct. I'm in love with that car. Thanks Trevor.

Guess you could call that a modern Bugeye.

Bugsy my '68 now has a BE Bonnet but I'll stopping there. Working out the rear quarters is too much work.

My '63 MG1100 was sold new by Joe Egle! I've got the original chrome dealer tag that was screwed to the trunk lid. I didn't know he was still alive.

If you google her name, you can get contact information.

Reason I wondered if he was still alive...I visited him years & years ago...he had some wonderful old cars at his original dealership location....I went back several years later & talked with his wife but got the impression he was dead though she never said it outright...but, she was slowly selling his collection.....went back a couple of years ago & his old dealership had been remodeled into several little boutiques.

stunning car but you would think it would be easier just to cut a trunk in a BE

John-Peter, shame on you.

It's not just the trunk with me. I sorta like the idea of a Bugeye with door handle and roll up windows as well.

 wasn't really being silly though - does seem like a lot of work for what he got - but I guess when you factor in the door handles and windows etc, it makes a little more sense.

I know a fellow who has a 1500 Midget and put in a 1275 and converted to chrome bumper which made me wonder why he didn't just buy a chrome bumper in the first place

Tony, I assume that you're speaking of the Joe Egle from KC. Joe is still around and kicking. He still has several of the cars. We usually see him at the KC All British on Labor Day weekend when he shows up with a group of cars driven by his family. I think he's starting to sell a few of his collection off to deserving custodians of these time capsuls, all of them are just as they rolled off the showroom floor or as close as he could maintain that condition.

Bill

Do you have contact info for Joe. I would love to talk with him to get more details of how he made the 1967 Sprite to Bugeye conversion especially as it relates to the rear. Do I remember correctly that his daughter Alison lives in KC? If so do you know if she still has the car?

Strange as it seems, I've never seen that car here in KC. Joe usually brings out some others to the show. There is a Joe Egle still listed in the KC phone book, but I don't know if it's the right person. Don't want to post that info here, PM me or check the on line directory.

There is currently listed on eBay a green later-model Spridget with a BE nose (it does not have the BE rear quarters though!).

Oops, just went to look for it and the listing must have expired!!

Well, glad to hear he's still around!! When I visited with his wife & walked around his collection, I was worried but didn't want to ask...then, when I went back & his place was closed up & had been redone as several shops, I just figured he was gone....send me his info also, please...I'd like to get back in touch with him.
