On a 1500 midg water paump does anyone know for sure which heater core barb is in and out? There is one on the top just under the thermostat and an other on the bottom back side of the pump.

The one on the back side of the pump is the intake or suction side of the pump. The one on the top just under the thermostat is the output or pressure side of the pump. Do you need pictures of the hose routing? The pump housing is a double wall casting where the steel line attaches to the pump housing.

Thanks I did find that the back one was the intake. I stuck a wire trough it to see if it had a direct passage to the lower hose. And as I though it does. So in theory I tapped my exp tank into this fitting and plugged the top. This should be the same as putting a tee in the lower hose, but much neater and easier.
