I would put in the cheapest "common" coil that Autozone or similar sells and test it. Bet that you will find it working better.
Do you have a coil in there now that doesn't require a ballast resistor?

That is what I bought. Its a resistor type and from the resistance reading of my existing coil it is resistor type as well. I think. Its been a while since I checked all that and didn't write it down. I bought the coil from advance auto back when I had a condenser problem and never put it once once I got that one solved.
