Micram brake shoe adjusters

Because of the problem I have had with reproduction micram adjusters, I am planning on having some of my own made. I have already discussed this on another forum and there is sufficient interest to proceed. Jack requested I share the info here as well.

These are early style adjusters, used on all drum brake cars discussed here, i.e. Bugeyes, early Sprites and Midgets

They will be made from 440C stainless and be an exact replica from an original factory part. I am selling them at my cost, which will be $40 each (per adjuster). I expect them to be made this week so if you are interested in having any, you should let me know in the next couple days. You can PM me, but I prefer a direct email.

For reference, below are a set of adjusters I purchased from the UK last year and installed on rear brakes that were adjusted only once. You can see the the screw head failed on installation and after removing them last week, I also discovered the one was broken in half. I have also included a photo of an original for reference.

Well done. This should solve a few folks problems.

I received a few pieces from the machinist tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to do a test installation of a pair, but I expect them to work better than the originals. The notches are very well defined and it took a 10 inch breaker bar with one end of the pivot locked to break one. It wasn't the screw slot that broke either.

I hope to have the rest by the weekend.
