Wedge Miata seats now in TR8

Last night I installed my Miata seats with the new upholstery from Mr. Mikes. Like my TR6, I installed the upgraded Millennium speakers in the headrests and they do sound really good hooked up to the radio, with the stock-speakers still working in the doors. Tomorrow night the all vinyl door panels go in and the plaid interior will all be safely stored in the basement.

Seat brackets are from Darrell Walker design. I only offered measurements and ideas as he was making these, he did all of the work. Last pic is of splitter for one side of (L&R) radio speaker wires.

WOW, Paul! You've taken the 8 to a whole 'nother level! Looks great!

~~Glad you've kept the cocoa mats~~

Thanks Mick!

Hopefully the door trims will be on over the weekend. I didn't get time to do anything today, but I have tonight and Sunday afternoon to "get er done".......

The cocoa mats will stay. My wife doesn't really care for them that much, so I point her to the TR6. I like them because they remind me of the 60-70's.

Looking good, Paul!

I'm still waiting on some fabric samples to make final color decisions on my new covers. I haven't even had mine out long enough to get my brackets painted.

Paul, best Ive seen, makes me want a 7 or 8 just to make it look like that.

Thanks Wayne.

Darrell, they guys at the body shop spoiled me. They carefully prepped the brackets, primed, sealed and painted them like they were going on top of the fenders, not under the seats.

Now if I could only figure out some good coffee cup holders..........

Darrell, did you ever get over to SMS? I'd love to see that place someday.

No, I haven't. I did get a sample of the Golden Tan vinyl from them, but I haven't gone out to visit. I found some tweed fabric that I really like, so I didn't go to see what they might have.

Those are some great looking seats. Very nice work! I want a pair in black for our Miata.
