Brian,

Miata Seats look fabulous in your car. Got any pics of the mounting brackets or did you simply drill new holes in the floor to mount the seats. Looking for a set right now to replace some very worn seats in a '68.

I saw the article in Classic Motorsports on using Miata Seats in their project car but pics don't really show when bracket fabrication was needed to mount the seat to the original mounting holes.

Any additional mounint or fabrication pics would be helpful. Trying not to reinvent the wheel. Take care. TIA.

That looks pretty good. How much travel back and forth and rake to the seat back adjustment do you have?

that's what I am trying to find out- what modifications are necessary.

I have read an article on this before and, if my memory is accurate (and it rarely is) all that is required is to bend/remove a tab on the Miata rails, then drill new holes in the floor.

Jim
When you put in the Miata seats do you want to sell the '68 ones?
Bill

I'd be happy to see the seats if I can find a Miata Set. They need recovering. These seats have headrests. Miata Seats more room in cockpit, more leg room, cloth seats breathe, shipping might be an issue as costs for shipping might be pretty steep. Could always use the large garbage bag shipping technique. Miata Seats $100-120 going junkyard rate.VB or MOSS Seatcover kit $250.00+. If you are interested I'd certainly sell them.

John Kuzman in Cincinanti is dismantling a '68 right now. No clue if there are seats in it. / condition

If your's have headrests on them then I am not really interested (since they would be '69 or up) but if John's don't have headrests then I would be interested (if they do exist!)
Thanks
Bill

Bill,

Bugsy came out a a yard where there were 6 Spridgets in various stages on canibalization. Some '68's did come with headrests and then they went top the Cone Shaped headrests for '69 and then back to the round type headrests after '69

Bill,

FYI - for all the Midget seats with headrests, they can be pulled out, and VB / Moss sell a little plastic blanking plate (about $1 each) to cover the resultant hole.

Best,
Duncan

That is IF I could get the darn things to move at all! The ones I have are out of a 72 Midget and haven't moved since 1982. They are frozen solid now. Besides I really like the '67-'68(early) seats better, they give a lot more room and can move back about 2" more.
