Miata seats and a rollbar?

Has anyone put Miata seats in a spitfire and also fitted a roll bar? I am wondering if the head rests will clear the bar and if the bottoms will clear the bar fittings where they meet the floor.
This is the type of bar that still clears the rag top and hard top.
Thanks.

Hi the roll bar i used on my 72 spit is a tight fit the top just rubs it when putting it up or down the seats i used also just fit with no room to slide foward or back the cross bar on the floor stoped that and to recline the seat the head rest dose rub the rollbar; but you have plenty of legroom and the seat just feel so much better then the spitfire seats ; just take your time play with the seat rail a you could make it work better then i did ; good luck.

Thanks Gents. I will give it a Go.
Now I just have to find some of the seats in my area.

Keep checking CL. Took 2 weeks to get mine

I got my seats from a local wrecking yard. I used www.car-parts.com to search the wrecking yards. They fit in my wedge with the roll bar, but I wedges have more room around the seats.

Thanks for the tip Philman.
The seats do not show up on Craigslist very often up here in the northern middle coast. I guess Miata's weren't thought to be good winter cars :square:
I was in Tulsa, OK the last two weeks and the seach shows there were a pair about 5 miles from where I was staying :wall:

2 people are parting out cars in Minn./St Paul. see if the seats are gone.

Well after $130, four hours of driving, half a tank of gas, a trip to a less than desirable section of St. Paul and dealing with a junk yard dude high on something, Spitty has a set of Miata seats.
Black and in very good shape with just a little fading. I cleaned the heck out of them with Totally Awesome, laundy detergent and a pressure washer.
They will fit with the roll bar I have. When pushed all the way back the head rests hit the bar when reclined. I think it will be fine. I will not finish the mounting until I get the pedals in. A six foot or taller guy may have an issue. I also need to see how much clearance I have with the steering wheel. Mine is a little reward than stock.
The seats look great in the car and are very comfortable. I cut in half some foam water noodle and slipped it under the back for added lumbar support.
Thanks for the help guys.
