Miata powered Sprite

I have a good racing friend doing one now, he doing a automatic tranny with hand controls, he was in a motorcycle accident a few years back and this will be a track day and solo car.
 
That would actually be a very cool car -especially for that price. From previous conversations, the only real issue is that the Miata engine is a tall engine so, not generally considered a great swap candidate because of the cutting involved.
 
if that car was in the southeast I would be really interested in taking a look, car itself looks good, and with the conversion if done right as advertized would be a big plus. if rear end is orignal it may need to be replaced if car is driven aggressively
