Anyone ever heard of this conversion?

I contacted the seller and so far I've managed to pick this from his brain.

"My friend, who is a good mechanic did the job on many cars. You have to fit the ring gear, put a Miata starter, a new trans support, shorten the driving shaft, etc, made it 5 years ago and very easy to shift since then......."

Anyone know anything else?

I have never heard of something like that, the seller has good user feedback so it must be true. Price seems a bit high eh? Especially for a starting bid.

Careful with that thinking, it is very common for people to build up a good rating on low priced items and then scamming someone with a high priced item. I am not claiming that to be the case here. I have read about users who sell "booklets" on how to increase your rating for a buck. (basically give them a dollar and they will give you a good rating)

here is an example of one for $2.30

This seller is probably on the level, i have no reason to feel otherwise, but his positive rating is based solely on buying....

137 feedback received by jyg51 from sellers (0 ratings mutually withdrawn)
0 feedback received by jyg51 from buyers (0 ratings mutually withdrawn)

again, i am making no claims about jyg51. Just passing along a new wrinkle to eBay scams.
