Alrighty, i got the G back from the mechanic today /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Cost a fair bit more than i thought it would... but apparently the valves were quite litterally ROOTED, the seats were in great condition :S (nice to know im buying quality petrol ey)

Took it for a spin around the block... holly heck its running good... but then again, maybe im just used to driving a slow old 4*4 :p

Left the place with a nice little one wheeler patch out the front... mechanic loved it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Glad to hear it. I'm lloking at the picture that comes with your post and I have to ask about your wheels. What king of rims are those? I've not seen them before.

Radford.

My rims are hardly purist :p
They came off a mitsubishi sigma (turbo model)
they are 5.5" wide i think
15" in diameter
currently have 185*60 tires on them... preffered it when i had 195's all around /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hey, Jarrod -

See my post - https://www.britishcarforum.com/ubbthread...p;page=0#108841

The rims I bought are also Mitsubishi, but 14". Are you using spacers on yours? And if so, what did you do for replacement wheel studs? Do you know what the offset is on yours? This is the distance from the edge of the inside rim to the centerline of the wheel. If yours is the same as mine, it would help me determine my next move.

Thanks,
Mickey

Mickey.

On mine, i know the rear rims have spacers on them. Im not 100%, but im fairly sure the fronts dont have any spacers on em. As for the offset, sorry mate, not sure.

A while back i was going to buy a set of 16" rims for my B, they fit ok, but the offset sat too deep inward, by the sound of it, seems something like your problem.

Is this your problem ....if you get them on with the spacers... there simply isnt enough length on the stud to screw them on?

If it is the problem, the guy who was selling his rims told me that you can purchase longer studs, but im not knowledgable on that area.

Mickey, send us some pics of ur bishi rims.! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks anyway, Jarrod. One thing I have to do is purchase longer wheel studs, and unfortunately, those are going to require drilling out the mounting holes. Can't find any with the proper diameter shank.

Here's a link to the rims I bought. A bonus is that the center caps from the Rostyle rims fit perfectly!

ah... those look a lot like Dodge Conquest/Mitsubishi Starion wheels...

Nunyas -

Haven't been able to find out what they were from. Most of the Mitsubishi wheels that I've seen are five-spoke. These are pretty different, which is what appealed to me.
