Someone asked me a question tonight about MGs that I could not answer. Does anyone know whey the letter E was not used on the T series MGs. There was a MGTC, a MGTD and a MGTF, but no E that I know about. Is there an answer somewhere?

I've heard it was because "TE" was too easy to make fun of, among many other rumors. Also remember that E was typically used for experimental, racing and record breaking cars, namely the EX series.
