I do not think it is necessary to remove paint to see what condition the body is in.Its likely that there are no patch panels in the car yet. Looking at it from cross country it looks unmolested. You can pick at any paint bubbles with a sharp pick and if you are not going to be the next keeper of the car then no wasted effort to remove the paint. Aw heck...Just have fun with it! Bob

Like Doc said, <span style="font-style: italic">"Out-patience" any urge to light it off"</span>....my <span style="text-decoration: underline">Guide to Awakening a Sleeping MGB</span> would be a good place to start if you just want to play with it - just remember the differences (dual power brake boosters, completely different rear brake fittings - don't lose any of them - etc.)
 
I use your guide as a Bible for all the cars I've woken up Tony! It hasn't failed me yet, probably because I follow it.
