MGC MGC air intake box supposed to be gloss black?

Semi-gloss looks much better, but I've seen them done in high-gloss.

I think it is Plastikote that has a colour called Hot Rod black - very nice shade for these types of parts
 
What year is it? Things changed in the engine compartment during the run.
 
My 1969 MGC was black. I repainted it with Eastwood Under Hood Black (p/n 10024Z).
It is a semi-gloss black and IMHO it looks very nice.

If I'd looked closer at the seats, I would've known that.....but, you have no '69 side reflectors....oh, those '69 'ckicklet' headrests - just plan on making them yourself.....get some extra material from whomever does your interior so you can have them made locally.
 
You are talking reflectors right behind the front fenders Tony?

I wonder if someone shaved those reflectors off at some point or maybe her fenders were swapped? I'm thinking more like shaved, but I won't know until I get the paint off her...
 
Front & back fenders....they were just pop riveted on with a special pop rivet.

All the MGC air filter housings were black.
The underhood black would probably be a good match as it was just a production car back then. Nothing too special as they couldn't spend much money on the assembly line.
And all the MGs that came to the States in 1969 (at least MGBs, MGCs and Midgets) had the same head restraints and side reflectors.
Those reflectors are held on by a pair of rivets that go into a blind-hole fastener like the ones used to hold on the MG badging on the boot.
