Has anyone installed an air conditioning kit from Nostalgic Air? They list a complete kit for rubber bumper cars and also a kit for chrome bumper cars.

It looks to be something I would invest in, but wonder if anyone else has installed one.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hey, Charlie -

I installed one in the GT conversion (GM 3.4 litre F6). Tight fit for the evaporator behind/under the glove box, but otherwise slick install. Mine was the combination heat and A/C, so the A/C alone may be an easier fit.

Thanks Mickey! I couldn't resist a very good deal on a '77 B and bought it to go along with my MGA. I had to sell my Miata to make room in my garage. This B has a Weber down draft carb, Headers, Electric cooling fans and all pollution gear stripped off. A nice canvas top with zip out rear window completes the BRG car with dark tan interior.

Sounds great! Nostalgic Air units are a wonderful addition, and their tech support, as I recall, is very good.

I investigated the whole aircon thing for my GT. In the end I came up with a cheaper and less invasive solution. I made a small wood platform for the centre of the back seat to take a 12 volt evaporative cooler that plugs into the cigarette lighter 12v socket. I only keep it there during summer. Not as efficient as aircon but cools the car enough to be comfortable!
