MGB MGB won't start

Hey I am new to the forums and I am looking to help my father with his (I am sorry, but I can't remember if it is a '76 or ''78) MGB. It has been sitting in his slightly damp garage for about two years. Last time we tried to start it, it would just crank, but not start. What would the first steps be to reviving this car so he can enjoy it this summer? I have just the basic skills at this point, but looking forward to learning on this and my '91 S-10. Thanks for your help
