MGB MGB Vintage Race Action

I was trolling the various Pittsburgh VIntage Grand Prix videos to try to learn the course. I won't have a car suitable for this event in '08 but I sort of have something in mind for the future. My race-Spridget is vintage-legal for the PVGP BeaveRun event (which I've run twice) , but not for this, special, street-course event.

Anyway, ~Click Here~ to see Walt Davies' mid-engine Elva Mk 7 following Don Dickey's MGB on the street course. He catches the MGB and a Lotus 7 about 5 minutes into the video and then they go hammer-and-tongs for quite a while.
On occasion, I've heard folks say that vintage racing isn't *real* racing. Watch this and you be the judge!

It's fairly long but you see lots of good action and a good pass on the MGB towards the end......and then a race-ending spin as the MGB goes by.

I attended the road courses last year, but missed the event at BeaveRun, and it is crazy how some of these guys drive with the stone walls on both sides of them. I have not attended any races at road courses, but the thing about the races in Pittsburgh is that the spectators can be feet away from the track and the action. If you get to the races at BeaveRun this year, let me know if you need a hand behind the scenes with anything. I'm hoping to attend.

PVGP is a MUST. Car show is great also. One day I'm going to beat that local purple 'B that wins the popular vote every single year...it's my dream anyway

Great vid! I was hoping he pulled it out, even though you did tell us what happened...and I was waiting for it. I want to try that sometime!

That was pretty cool, now can I see it in real time /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
I known Don Dickey, I help him buy one the Huffaker MGBs, nice guy, he has the factory Huffaker MGB Lee Mueller drove at the runoffs in 1978. That was one of those deals where I would love to have had that car myself, but already car poor , however it went to a good home. The MGB Don is driving in the video is not the Huffaker MGB ( he races that in SCCA), it's his vintage racing MGB, nice car.
Good stuff, thanks Nial.
