I have a MGB VIN number GHN3L19031, body number 018712. This would be a 1963, right? The PA title with the same VIN number has it listed as a 1966. How could this be????
Thank you.
In those days, cars were registered when they were first purchased....could've been sitting around on the lot like Doc said...easy to change year on title.
Just for curiosity's sake, what's the engine number? It'll be on an aluminum "tag" blind riveted to the block just below the head on the starboard side.
There's a date stamp cast into th' blocks. IIRC it'll be low onna starboard side, just forward of the dipstick. Has a slot-head screw in relief at the center of the thing.
The only numbers I could see with the engine in the car (light and mirror) under the gen and in ft of the oil filter is 2B4B and I70? or 17D? Hard to tell if a I or 1 and 0 or D. No screw though. Does the filter need to be off to view the date stamp. Thanks, Shawn
