I know I need to adjust the valves in my '71 MGB. Couple of problems...the engine data plate is missing so I have no way to verify which engine I have so I don't know what clearence to use. Any suggestions for figuring something out ? I REALLY hope someone can help.
Thanks,

Gary

I doubt if there is much difference between the 0.015" cold setting of the early cars and the 0.013" hot setting specified for later cars. You can also look at the head casting so that you will know what year head you have. Here's a guide to head casting numbers: https://www.flowspeed.com/cylinder-ident.htm

Thanks guys. I really appreciate this info.
