Just a quick one. Been off the site for a while. Retired, trying to sell off my VW shop, cars, parts etc. Making my shop clean to accept all my Mgs so I can sell most of them and relax. So last week while in NY I bought a 64 B roller in great shape. No rust or dents. A friend found it and got it fro TX. and took it to my shop in NM. Then today I snagged this thing. I know what it is...and isn't. It has rubber bumpers but still fun. Owner died before completed. Widow wanted it gone. 500 miles since everything new..including a new 3500 V-8. I'll check it over and wait till spring to decide what to do with it.

That is impressive! Great to hear from you Jack. I don't know how you do it but you consistantly come up with amazing cars. I have never seen anything like it. Hats off to you!

:iagree:

Thx...everytime I start making holes in my shop something shows up. The VW herd has thinned allowing us to travel and visit old friends. But when we get back to NM we're going to concentrate on selling what we can, and possibly donate a vehicle or two. There's a lot of folks out there deserving a break.

what goes around comes around that's for sure

Well....had the V-8 B delivered today. Holy crap. What a car. The engine just rumbles. Only drove it into the shop and put it over the rack. Everything seems fine, will need a little tweaking and the Rover five speed feels strange. No grindinding or anything....just different. Will put it thru the wringer Sun and Mon then made the decision to drive it a while or just make it perfect and pass it on.

Today I unbotched the rig job that was installed on the elec fans. The PO said the cooling fan wasn't coming on so he cut the wires and hooked up a toggle switch. And didn't mount it just set it on the console. I disconnected that mess and put it back as it should be. All it was , the power dropped at the relay. Fixed that, works perfectly. Now pull and toss the horrible racing seat( not adjustable) and install a set that were removed from my 79 I have stripped for painting. I'll install them until I can recover or buy a set done.
