MGB MGB Trunnion Nut Removal

heh... this conjures up some images...

You *know* of the "Dropped Part" law of physics... "If an important part falls to the floor, it will seek to roll to the least accessable area." If it's a socket it follows the same rule: It'll go to the absolute center of the car, or furthest point under the bench. Work-bench flambé may not be a good thing....

Well, today I'm going to try & remove a few more trunnions - however, I checked my records & haven't sold half a dozen in 10 years...& I have that many in inventory right now...so, if its too much trouble, I'll let them do it!

Oh, Doc, you can watch the rust just disappear when my little propane torch hits it...

hehee. I kin smell it from here! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

22 of them disassembled & waiting for delivery...I'm glad that order's finished!

4 boxes ready to go to FEDEX; 3 boxes partially finished awaiting parts from Moss to finish

Got somebody coming to look at the '72 GT tomorrow & am going to look at a '69 MGC GT Friday

...this is almost like working!

You love it you know you do and wife says it keeps you out of the bars. hehe.

...oh, & the junkman is coming tomorrow to haul off a trailer full of stuff

My body is sore, sore tonight!!

Now you just have to come up with an article about how a little known maintenance item that people always forget about is replacing those pesky trunions every 5 years or your hair will fall out and your car just won't run right.

You've got a lot of inventory to clear there son! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yea, but he will never ever have to restock.

Jim - I'm telling you - after all this, I thinke the entire front suspension should be replaced every 5 years...that or grease it like crazy every time you change the oil!

..must..buy...refill for grease gun...

some wise-a** pointed out two grease nipples on my rear hubs I didn't even know were there... now I'm obsessing on it.

I came home early today because the wife called telling me that the water pipe going into the house was spraying and I couldn't talk her through turning off the valve (she's a keeper but she missed out on the mechanical gene). In the back of my mind I'm like "cool - I'll knock that job out in 30 minutes and have a good 5 hours to myself to work on the TR"....

Wrong.

4 hours later I had dug a 5 foot hole and chipped away the 40 or so bricks that formed a little well around the plumbing. Somehow I managed to only have to go to the hardware store once. All fixed... the kids can bathe... we can cook... life is good.

My back is killing me too.

(jeez - can I hijack a thread or what?)

Lube, lube, lube, lube, lube those grease nipples! and get a little in them too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

*bites tongue* .... must .... not .... go .... there .... *passes out from holding breath*
