MGB MGB tires

A friend just gave me four almost new tires but I think they are too big for my car. Is there any way that 205/70's will work? 1971 MGB. Thanks
 
Thats kinda big. I try to stick with 185/70-14. If 165-14 was availabe at a reasonable price I would be running them. Bob
 
Yeah, I'm with Bob....205s are a bit too wide for your standard MGB wheels.

~My MGB~ has 185s ($65 each) and, like Bob, if decent 165s were available at comparable prices, I'd buy them instead.
 
What those guys said. You're getting into dangerous territory with tires that wide on stock rims. However, if they could be made not to rub they might work with wider aftermarket wheels (though they'd still be larger circumference than original thereby leading to slightly taller gearing and inaccurate speedo.
