My '79 V8 car's body is taking shape more quickly in the short time my bodyman here has had it than in the years the bodyman in Mississippi had it.

The body is pretty much fiberglass...all trim lines have been smoothed, no door or trunk handles, the rear quarters have been smoothed into tiny fins, has a fiberglass modified MGC hood with Triumph GT6 hump grafted onto it, modified front & rear Sebring valances, front fenders getting new Mini headlights & being reshaped for an aluminum eggcrate grille before the entire front end is molded into 1 piece.....the rear wheelwells have been reshaped & small flares molded into them to match the flares we molded into the front fenders....& much more.

Here are a few photos:

The car & top will be painted Porsche Seal Metallic Grey with 2 ghost stripes on each side of the hood hump correlating with the ridges in the top running down to the license plate with a Mercedes silver snakeskin stripe down & over the center of the car in-line with the hood hump...

...& a couple of the unusual hardtop we're restoring for it

& I just got back from Unique Motorcars, the oldest manufacturer of Cobra kit cars, where I bought a set of these for the front fenders:

I never name cars....but this one is the <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic"> <span style="font-family: 'Impact'"> <span style="font-size: 14pt"> <span style="color: #666666"> SSsnake...</span> </span> </span></span></span> (& the number for that grey font is "666666"...hehehehe)...
& here's its engine:

& I've not even mentioned the suspension & brake modifications to handle that 300hp engine!

I like those fender vents a lot better than the buick ports.

yup, the vents are cool.

Bodyshop has them & is going to mockup a couple of places on the front fenders to put them....I'll take a look tihs week in between building my Midget engine.

I can just see Tony doing burnouts at the local...... hehe

Been thinking, looks like Tony is going to need some wider rear rubber.

He also has said nothing about the A/C, think it would be a real deal in his neck of the woods.

Too much extra weight anyhow!

No AC - rear wheels will end up about 10"-12" wide...fronts not much thinner!

Yep, I'm gonna be the old man who teaches young punks a lesson...hehehe.

Dennis - that's not my shop; its the bodyshop where they're doing the work.

I was by the bodyshop this morning to see where my bodyman thought the vents should go & to see his mockup of the chin spoiler we're gonna install on the Sebring valance (man, that thing just cries out <span style="font-style: italic">"try me!"</span>).....a young kid was there with his 500hp hopped up Mustang getting all the Cobra flares, hood, etc. put on it...he wanted to know if my car would be as fast as it looks...when I told him it was only 300hp, he chuckled....so, I told him I'd pick the road & we'd both sign our titles & leave them with my bodyman & the person who got to the finish point first owned both cars! He quickly shut up & walked away!

Yea but he needs to get to the race place. I can just see him going to the post office in a smoke of rubber.

Nashville will never be the same.

Nashville?????????

Errr, Huntsville, Gurley, Cross Roads and points in between.
