We have all seen rubber MGB bumpers that need refinishing. Now the big question. What products work best and what is the best way to apply them? I know I have been asking a lot of questions but this will be my first MGB and I want to do it right. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
I just sand mine & spray them with satin finish rattle can! Lasts for years!
 
I think the paint makes it look cheap, I'd rather work with the original rubber. But if it's too far gone then sand it and paint with bumper paint. It's a little thicker than standard paint and is rubberized to simulate the original rubber.

Looks good in the pics.....and you probably don't have to waste bottles of tire shine on it either..... Still not sure I'd like a 'painted' look on my bumpers...But to each his own.

Never put anything on them - just wash like rest of car....& because they're sprayed with a satin finish, they don't have a 'painted look'.
 
Yep, it's the "gloss" painted ones that really look painted. Oh, and the really aren't rubber... more like plastic, so they are more suited to paint than say almost every other car from the late 70's to early 80's. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
