Can anyone point me in the direction of a wiring schematic for the correct hook up of the O/D trans. I recently installed in my non-O/D 76 B?? I have a Haynes MGB manual #111...non color and apparently not correct. Four of us have gone over it and have just been confused. From the stick switch down..a yellow and a red..from the switch foward of the stick another red and another yellow wire. The one red form the o/d switch on stick goes directly to the o/d solenoid..thats the only one connected to anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jack,
I'd love to see pics of the wiring when you are done. I am experiencing a few problems myself.

Jack, If I had your email address right, you should have some information in the mail. I down loaded it a while back and it has been useful to me. Maybe to you too. PJ

Jack add your email address to your profile.

E Mail address is..and has been in profile. So far this is what I've done..got ot wired...verified o/d solenoid is working. Drained trans and o'd and pulled filters and cleaned. Did exactly what the book said. Serviced with six pints and warmed it up. Ran it on the rack in third and fourth for at least a half hour. Selected o/d.....nothing. tried third and fourth..ZIP. Tomorrow I'm going to take it out on the road and put a load on it...get it up to 65 or soand select it up. If this dosen't do it it comes off the road for the winter and gets totally torn down. If the transmission turns out to be a boat anchor it'll go on the scrap pile and I'll re-install the original non o'd and sell the thing.

I'm having simlar problems. How'd you test the OD solenoid?

Kind of a home made holder...then grounded it and powered it. Also checked it in car...turned key on, put the shifter in fourth, laid under car with hand on solenoid cover and had my friend move the shifter switch. Could feel it energize. Hope after the drive today it straightens out.

Keep us posted I'd love to hear the outcome.
