Nope, I've fixed the "too lean" condition it initially had when I put the HS6 on. Now I think it might even be a tad too rich. Throttle lift pops are a tad too forceful; instead of getting a growly rumble on decel, I'll get a distinct pop (out the exhaust) before it settles into a growly rumble while engine breaking. Plus, you can smell the richness in the exhaust fumes. I may need to lean it a flat or a flat and a half for it to be "right".
 
Neat! How's the acceleration feel? I know it's subjective but figure you'll have a fairly objective eval.
 
Accel feels pretty good. It's still a bit asthmatic in 3rd and 4th gears; I blame the stock inlet and outlet plumbing for this. Blipping the throttle at idle, the engine spools up slightly faster. When accelerating from a stop light/sign, the low down grunt is still lacking, but you can definitely feel it hit the power band at about 1.5K and then it pulls all the way to 5K (possibly further) in 1st and 2nd gears. Having a passenger in the car doesn't slow it down nearly as much as it used to either. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I should've mentioned I have OD too, and the engine-setup is completely desmogged with the twin SUs.

Since Hap rebuilt my carbs, that's about what I'm getting. Two SUs, stock point dizzy and OD. I know it's 30+. PJ

It's now Wednesday, and my tank has dropped down to 1/4 tank left as of this morning, and I'm now up to 195 miles on this tank of gas. I think maybe the "feel" of acceleration, or the enjoyment I get out of hearing the HS6 whistle has gotten me a bit, or maybe it's both of those. The sounds and the sensation combined encourages me to use more loud pedal than necessary to accelerate away from stop lights and signs, and driving in the city has lots of lights and signs. Seems maybe city traffic is really killing any 'economy' I might be able to attain from my car. Ah well... *sigh*

I think I'm gonna have to experiment with my next tank of gas and take the freeway to work for the full tank to see what happens. I normally take surface streets to work because it's about half the distance versus taking the freeway.

I get about 18 MPG on 89 octane. Most of my driving is to and from work, 6 miles round trip, or down to the pub 1 mile. Lots of stop signs, so constantley shifting
 
It's taken me a while to calculate the number of miles my B has travelled since I got her 6 months ago.
88 miles.

hmmmm... infinite miles per gallon... I think you may be on to something here...

bleh... I put 10gallons of gas in tonight with the odo reading 205miles. That's better than what I'd been averaging on the ZS with the Ethanol laced gas we've been getting out here. Mixed driving. The majority of the first 160 miles was highway, the last 40 was stop and go city traffic. Still, I'm quite happy to see over 200 miles on the odo before refueling. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
 
Sounds about right. Sitting at idle and stop & go traffic really kill the MPG average. You probably had at least 24 on the highway.
