may sound strange but I just picked up a 1915 Model T. Was a C cab pick-up when new. I have the cab..minus the bolt on top and the frame with the original springs front and rear. I sat staring at it today and had an idea. ZI parted out quite a few MGBs over the years so did some measuring. A wire wheel front suspension..and the rear end will fit like a glove with some simple mount brackets. Two street rodder geezers are so excited they've offered their expertise...free..to be in on the build. Drivetrain is being mulled over..but we have the rolling problem solved. We're planning on a stainless steel firewall, I have a custom dash in stock and plan on all Heritage gold VDO gages. My poor VW shop being taken over by strange projects. I'll try to post a few posts over the weekend.

It sounds cool, authentic wire wheel suspension...how about a lightweight V8, maybe consider the front supension from an MG C, I bet Tony could fix you up...
 
It's not clear to me how much of the Model T you have but somehow going to all this trouble to use MG parts doesn't seem to make sense. But - I'm probably missing something. In any case, if you aren't already you should know about these guys - www.secretsofspeed.com - if only to see what others folks are doing. Good luck with it!
 
Why not just build an MG TD?
 
I've always wanted to take A MGTD and go with SD1 Rover V8, Build a new frame, lose the bonnet, make it a roadster with side pipes and a couple rows of Stombergs on top. It would be like British Opera - Either you love or hate it, Nothing in between.

Just my two cents, keep an old Model T original, but that's only one person's opinion (er... two people's opinion)

And that's quite the idea Lee, I don't think anyone here in BCF will be selling their MG TD to you now...

As light as it's going to be, the MG front and rear
will be fine, there is a '29 Model A in the Seattle
area with an injected (Hillborn) Chev 350 running an
MG front suspension. Looks good and "Old Skool"...
It is fenderless too...

That thing belongs in a tractor pull. Just slap a John Deere badge on it and maybe nobody will know....

This may be grounds for BCF excommunication, but assuming that I already had a T series car, I would restore that one as a period gasser.
 
That MG TD gasser...

It's already been messed up years ago, so why not restore it the way it is now? It's certainly a great period piece (as a gasser), and there are plenty of MG TD's around anyway so it's like they are that rare
 
Laid out ther front end...carried the bare T frame into the shop and its almost a drop fit. The stabaliozer bar on the front of the B front end slides perfectly into the original lower radiator housing mount. This will be alot of work..but as about all I got with the deal was the frame with springs front and rear...the complete cab and the w/s frame..I feel this is the best way to go. I have a few brackets to design, construct and weld on..but by the week-end I should have a roler frame. Cab is adjustable back and forth so an engine choice dosen't have to be made till I'm ready. And YES...I'm trying to cut back and retire. My shop has at the moment six bugs being prepped to paint and interior. Plus four engines being built for beetles...plus my own personal projects...two B roadsters...a BGT..my wifes 65 Mustang...and a few I haven't started.
