There's a reason for that- the standard 900 and 900S engines were bulletproof and most are probably still hauling people around. The turbos, on the other hand...not real bad reliability...for an '80s turbo (how's that for a qualifier?), but not bulletproof.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif Plus, they might have been driven a wee bit harder because of the turbo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I remember seeing that recently too.....but according to my most current cataloge(August 2006) The LE wheels(part # 462-750) is N/A

I just got a seasonal ad from Moss last week and they were listed. Something like $265/wheel (around that, anyway).

hmmm...strange. Maybe they only offer at certain times, or when they have stock. As a point of interest the cataloge I have here has an LE on the cover with some very shiny wheels.

Let me know if any of you guys want me to get a price on them...I can usually beat even the sale prices

Yes, Rick. The Saab "Shelby" wheels are minilite look-alikes. The have "SHELBY" stamped opposite of "SAAB" on the rim of the wheel. The only one's I've ever seen are owned by Tony, and they were charcoal or black painted spokes, with a polished rim. They are the lightest wheel you can fit to an MGB without spending several hundred per wheel. I want 5 - cheap! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do those "Shelby" rims fit a midget? If not are there any that will that are light weight & look similar? If so I want to have a looksie in a junk yard to find some.

Nope, they won't fit a Midget

Kenny,
Try https://www.car-part.com/ you'll be able to select the exact wheel and search by area of the country. The site will give you a list of all the participating yards, in your region, that have them in stock, it will give contact info and usually prices. Call and negotiate, we have used this site to obtain body parts.

Good luck,

Dave
