I've been thinking about trying to track down a set of these wheels. Are they going to be impossibly hard to find? Are the going to be worth the trouble? Would other wheels be a better idea? Thoughts please. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

John - they're not impossible to find however if you're looking for lightness, there are better options.

How heavy are they in comparison to the minilite type wheels? Or for that matter the Rostyle wheels that are on it.

I've not weighed them but they feel heaviere than Rostyles

I think these are the same as V8 wheels, in which case, the hard bit to track down is the wheel nuts.

Minilites definitely let the brakes breathe better: not much air gets through the originals.

Two words... Saab Shelby's
I want some!!!!

hehehehehe.....I have 10!

I still haven't found any in the local junkyards. Apparently junked saabs just disappear off the face of the planet.

The olny Saabs that had them were the turbo-ed ones around '87 or so.

All Saabs are turbo'd. It's Saab's thing.

I didn't know that, Kenny - are you certain?

I'm pretty sure. Except for the 2-stroke odd cars.

LE wheels look great, when had an LE I redid all the wheels. I believe the Triumph Stag also used them so you could try searching for that aswell.

No.. not all, although you could say the only 900's worth having were turbocharged. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Ahhhh.... The whole wish-list just got updated "specific" saabs. I really thought all the mainstream saabs were turbo'd. All the ones I've seen in the junkyards were, but they all had geometric wheels instead of the really lightweight "shelby" minilite replicas.

Currently all Saabs are turbo, wasn't always the case.

THe 900's were turbo and normally aspirated, i believe it was the change to th 9-3 body style (coupled with being bought by GM) when all engine options were turbo.

WHEW!! Again I didn't say something
"ridiculous" that a person could jump on...hehehe

I'm young... that's my excuse and I'm stickin to it - hehehehehehe
