MGB MGB LE Vin #'s

Jake - like I said, you might want to spend the $40 or so to get a Heritage certificate to verify your car's heritage. It would be an interesting anomoly if your car was indeed built after BL switched to the new VIN system.

Has your car ever been repainted? One way to tell quickly is: does your black have any metallic in it? The trick to LE Black is the very tiny and fine metallic in the paint. Its not listed i any paint code but the factory put it there so the paint couldn't be duplcated. The dealers had correct code for the amount of metallic to add to paint, but nobody else did.

I belive it did have some sparkle to it, I will check some old pics I have of it. I sold the car early last year to some guy in Minnesota. I couldn't seem to get more than $700 for it even with its overdrive tranny and rebuilt engine. Ebayed it twice and it finally sold.
