as preaching north of Toronto today. One of the parishioners drove his MGB. Number 65 I think of the last 100 - very nice, very original. (forgive the lousy pic - there was a car behind me) Then, just a short distance away is an LBC shop. These were parked outside. Finally, was heading north on the 400 the other day and saw a Nissan Figaro - he pulled off just as I was catching up but got one shot on my cell phone (as are all the other pics)

For anyone wondering, the little gray sedan is a Triumph Standard 8 (the car sold before the Herald). At one pont I thought it would be cool to drop a decent 1500 Spitfire motor in one of those and build a keen vintage racer (which kind of similar to what I'm doing with the Austin).
 
My first saloon car was a 1955 Standard 10, very like that shown above. It was possibly the worst car I've owned from reliability and general condition aspects, though that wasn't the fault of the car. I bought it dirt cheap and sold it as soon as I could.
 
One of my buddies had one painted brown at Earl Sheib's for $39.95. we called it "The Turd". It was a slug but we had lots of good times in it. Never thought of it as a racer though. I guess as the world is an ashtray to a smoker, every car is race car to you race guys. I'm sure glad you exist, Nial, you are quite the guy and I so enjoy your posts. You appear to be wringing the most out of life! {And your rides]

That TR Standard looks a little like a Fiat 1100 Salon I had for a short while in High School.
 
I believe that Standard 8 is the same car they still produce to this day in India under the name "Hindustan Ambassador" It can be had with a couple of different Isuzu Diesel plants as well as LPG or propane engines.

No, that's the Morris Oxford - similar looks though.
