My heater valve died. Any recommendations on who has the best heater valve?

Oh just a guess here but i would think Tony, hehe.

MOSS(AKA: Tony) or any other major supplier...

Better buy two. They are all crap. The best thing you can do is fabricate a ball valve setup which will be trouble free forever.

Does it leak or just doesn't work. They do clog up and cleaning the gunk out will make it work again. But if it is leaking, replace it.

The nasty old thing is leaking. Just started all of a sudden. Had it out on Thursday night and came back on Sunday and she was dripping anti freeze all over the driveway.

Yep, replace it. It will drip on your distributor too. I stalled one time and couldn't start it and the distributor was wet. I dried out the cap but the infra red sensor board in the dist for my electronic ignition got wet and I had to completely clean and dry it after getting a tow home.
