MGB-GT MGB-GT V8 Value

Hi Team,

A question for those of you who are market-watchers. I'd like to get your estimate of the value of a genuine factory MGB-GT V8. Of course this would be a Right Hand Drive car. Condition excellent; everything works. Runs and drives wonderfully. Cosmetically "excellent driver" -- although not a perfect show car. Manual trans. Has sunroof and Minilite-style wheels, plus air dam under front bumper. It's red! It's a 1974 model with chrome bumpers.

What's a ballpark value range for this car in the USA? Thanks.

According to the price guide in Thoroughbred & Classic Cars a 1973-1976 MGB GT V8 in ENGLAND would go for $12,000-15,000.

Don't know the market for them in the US because they were never imported, but a handfull did make it over during the 80s.

And looking at the price guide it shows that MK1 MGB and MGC roadsters command higher prices over the V8 models because of the price of gas in England.

I personally saw one at MG2003 in St. Louis.
