I don't believe you can tell from VIN.
 
Even if you could, you couldn't be sure it still had the original tranny....
 
What year is it...on some years you can tell by the engine number/ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bruce, is right, on G series engines if there is a "R" in engine number that would indicate OD. But the best way to tell is get under the car and look for the OD lump.
