So, I got the wheels home earlier today. The tires on them are too bad to be used, but that was expected. One of the tires is a 175 70 14 Michelin XZX (I think), so it's possible to run 175 tires on those wheels. The ROSstyles are currently fitted with 175 70R 14 tires, and they've worked well, but they're aging into unsafe territory.
For giggles, I decided to remove a rear wheel and put the Iron Cross wheel with the 175 tire on just to see if they come anywhere close to fitting. Had to wiggle it a bit, but it feels seated against the brake drum, so there's that.
The issue appears to be the lug nuts, lug holes, and the lug studs currently fitted. I've attached some pics. I used a digital caliper to measure from the top of the stud down to the bottom of the lug hole, and it measures roughly 4/5". My current lug nuts won't go down deep, so they're maybe holding on to a half inch of the lug at best, which doesn't seem safe.
It appears one solution might be to convert the lugs to M12, but I've never changed any over like that. I'm not sure what to look for length-wise, and it seems odd that a car designed around a great deal of imperial fasteners would accept a metric lug stud.
Using a different lug nut like this one might work: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...MI0LecueL3kwMV0DfUAR3L_CELEAQYAiABEgKBdfD_BwE
Or maybe these: https://www.autozone.com/p/dorman-w...MI0LecueL3kwMV0DfUAR3L_CELEAQYASABEgJcb_D_BwE
The photos show the lug studs with the wheel in place, the lug nuts I currently have, and one of the lug holes showing how deep they go.
Thank you,
