I was wondering if anyone has bought a Dash Cap for a 77-80 MGB...if so were you pleased with it? how does it look???PICTURES??

Thanks in Advance
Zack

Hey Zack,
I put one on my 78 B and love it. It hid the crack very well and was tough to see the cap was there without close investigation. Working on pictures. Having trouble with the camera.

I've have one that's been sitting in my garage for the last three years or so, waiting for me to find the time to install it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

While not a 77 I put a cap on my 75 and it came out pretty good. Mine was badly cracked on the top and had a 4 inch section above and to the right of the glove box lock that was badly damaged with the plastic and some of the foam removed. You can’t tell for a distance that it's a cap and up close you do have to look for it. It didn't take long to install but have a lot of sandbag type weights handy to weigh it down while the glue dries.

Thanks for the positive feedback, the original dash(the 80 MGB LE) isn't really bad it's got two medium sized cracks that have been repaired but are still noticable if you look....Also the Florida sun(originally from Pensacola Florida) has "burnt" the top of the dash making it almost resistent to armouall and other "plastic restorers".

Just another job to add to the growing list.....

Thanks to all who replied...thats why I love this forum.

I put a Dash Cap on my '76 which was in bad shape. After ten years it still looks good. I agree with Stewart about weighing it down.
