I've been seeing some pictures of MGB's with removeable fiberglass hard tops. Are these pretty tough to come by? I think they look pretty aweseome, and would like to get one for myself. Any info on these appreciated. Thanks

Parrish hardtops look great on mgbs, and are still being made by the original manufacturer, just pull up parrish hardtops on google.

they are available in the MOSS and Victoria British catalogs, or were at last look, Not cheap though, around $1400 or so as I recall.

I found a used snugtop for a couple hundred.. not as sleek as the new ones, as they have a flat rear window, but it keeps me dry!!

I've got a factory hardtop for mine, so does my brother but neither were easy to come by....or cheap. And that was a while ago there probably even harder to find now. Personally I don't like the look of the snugtops, but I really do like the factory hardtop look!

I checked out the smoothline website, and tops look alright. I saw one on ebay a few weeks ago and it was an original factory top from a works car. It was looking at over $2g's, and in the UK. but the works cars looked so good with their tops. I couldn't tell if the smoothline tops were like that or not though. Any idea?

You can find them on eBay, but the shipping is a real bear, unless you happen across one that is somewhat local to where you are. I've got a Snugtop, and I think it looks pretty good...

This isn't the best photo of it, (see attachment) but it's the only one I can find at the moment. (Guy on the right is the guy who restored the car for me.)

thats not too bad looking, but do they do a gloss top that can be painted to match the car as well? I thought I remember seeing something about that at their site before. Did you have any trouble with the top fitting on, or was it pretty much dead on?

Couple people in my car club (St. Louis) have hardtops for sale. There are at least 2 of them listed in our newsletter, $100 each. I have one myself, but I've never put it on the B, came with the car when I bought her.

Smooth line just gave me a real nice quote on for fiberglass fenders and rocker covers? For my A.

Mine is a factory hd tp and I painted it the color of the car. It can be sanded down and painted just like the car.

I like the factory tops best. The aftermarket ones look like a bubble. Just my opinion. I really like the look of mrbassman's top.

Yes, mrbassman's hardtop is one of the ones I've seen that I really like how it looks. Those are the ones I was really looking for. I haven't found any aftermarket ones to look like that.

Jaybird, are those factory hardtops for sale, or aftermarket ones?

mrbassman, what are the factory tops made of? Are they fiberglass, or sheetmetal?

Montero, I don't know but I could find out if you're interested or give you a phone number.

I found a factory hard top for $300 by looking at different MG car clubs newsletters on line. Makes a hugh difference driving in winter!

Hello!

Recently found this site, and saw the question about MGB hartops.

Just happen to have a "Snugtop" fiberglass hardtop that I'm looking to sell. Love the top, but recently bought a Parrish top for a little extra headroom since I'm 6'2".

The Snugtop is in excellent condition with good seals securely in place. Glass is perfect condition. I've even got the mounting hardware. Caveat, Snugtop no longer makes the MGB top and does not support it if you need parts, so you have to do some matching to find seals that will work should these ever need replacing.

My location is Wichita, Kansas. If you're interested, let's chat.

I haven't been all the way down to the surface but it feels like fiber glass. I didn't get mine new, it was given to me by a friend that hauled it down here from Maryland on top of the trunk of his car.

I have a Snugtop too and like the looks, but am planning on selling it since my B has a new soft top and stays inside during bad weather these days. Its in northern MD very near Rocks if you know anyone who might be interested.
