MGB convertible—28,096 original mile
He wants $19,800.00.
It sound like a good deal!
No affiliation.

This is a stunning super low mile one owner rare MGB convertible. It has very hard to find overdrive and ice cold Air Conditioning. It runs and drives great. The overdrive makes this an 80 mph highway car. The A/C make it an oasis on a hot day. It has only 28,096 original miles. It is sitting on original tires!!! I would recommend you change them for safety reasons. It has all tools and boot cover. It has great documentation. I have the original bill of sale and warranty book as well as the impossible to find window sticker. This is a once on a lifetime chance. If you always wanted one of these cars this is the best equipped and most original one to have.

Man, they still out there. Wonder how long these will keep turning up.

Wonder why I never see any Bugeyes like this.

I'm feelin' peckish...

By 1980 they'd emasculated the engine to the point it couldn't get out of its own way, GV weight was thru the roof... why not strap another couple hundred pounds of useless gear on it and REALLY have it stumble on its nose.

Yeah, that's th' ticket.

BAH! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

what's up with the headlight "beauty rings"? It looks like there's notches cut into it so you can access the headlight adjustment screws without taking them off.

I think that is just a reflection on the beauty rings.
Look at the passenger side, the reflections look different.
BTW, DrEntropy, I love my 79 MGB.
And the option to buy a unmolested, almost new MGB in 2007 is a good as you can get. If I did not already have the same car with almost the same mileage (26,400), I would buy it in a heart beat.
BAH, back at cha!

MG used a different trim ring on the MGB-LEs in 1980...it's possible that these trim rings were pulled from the LE bin upon assembly...or have been replaced a some point in time during the car's life. In any case, I believe that they have been installed 180* out of sink...the noth should probably be on the bottom.

No - they're notches. Both left and right have the "notches" at the top. The passenger side has a notch at the 9 and 12 o'clock position. I've seen them like that at shows. There aren't too many of them, but they're out there.

Here's a picture of the passenged side light of an '80 V8 conversion I took in Virginia a couple of years ago with the same trim ring:

yup, I just looked again, and both passenger and drivers sides have a notch at 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

They're odd to me, because I'd never seen that particular ring before. If I had, I didn't notice it until now.

$20,000 for a 1980 MGB? I don't care how nice it is, that's way too much. All it means when someone says "original low mileage car" to me is that all the rubber is bad.

Makes me glad I bought mine when I did.....I've got a 23,000 mile and an 18,000 mile MGB, I had a the foresight to buy them in the late 80's/early 90's when they could be had dirt cheap.

That is a nice car. I really would not want to spend what it takes to restore a car to that standard. Then after that, nothing really isn't like an original. It is also not bad compared to the cost and depreciation involved in the purchase of a modern sportscar. What is a "new" MGB worth?

20k for the one '80 LE that was never registered if memory serves me right

I had really forgotten how nice they are.

A partner of mine has a '75 B with slightly less miles, all original, very nice and it is a "Golden Anniversary" car. He'd take half that asking price...if he could sell it- long story.
